On the screen is a photo of one of the Union’s most brash cavalry generals–George Armstrong Custer. Like it or not, the 1st Vermont Cavalry favored the antics of Custer, even to donning the red neckerchief that he wore. The audience at the annual meeting was treated to interesting information about the 1st Vermont and their involvement in the war, including new information about Addison Preston.
