To commemorate the important acquisition of Col. Addison W. Preston’s full-dress uniform and accoutrements, the Danville Historical Society and Champlain Tours are partnering to sponsor a bus trip to Gettysburg, PA. The trip will feature interesting informational speakers and entertainment on the bus ride to and from Gettysburg, and while there, we will tour Vermont specific battlefield sites and memorials, as well as those relative to Col. Preston. We will also have an opportunity to stroll around downtown Gettysburg and visit the Horse Soldier Military Americana Museum and the shop where Col. Preston’s uniform was obtained prior to its celebrated return to his Danville, Vermont hometown. If you are interested in joining us for this exciting opportunity to learn more about Col. Addison W.
