If you haven’t seen him already, stop by and visit Hollis, the Duck Man, when you see him selling rubber ducky numbers for the first 50–50 Ken-Ducky Derby to be held August 19 at the park at 1:00. The price per duck chance is $10 or a special Quack-Pack of $50 buys you six. It is a fun fund raiser and includes a special prize for the ladies for the most attractive and appropriate hat. The Historical Society’s part of the 50–50 will go toward maintenance of the park.
“The race will take place in about all of fifteen minutes,” says Hollis, who hopes people will stick around and buy a hot dog, some of his maple baked beans, or a dessert for a buck a choice. “It will also be a great time for people to try out the new trail and just have a good time.” (If you’ve never had his baked beans, you’re missing something very special!)
You do not have to be present to win, but come for the fun.
